a series of online movement research programs tailored to transform your body into a powerful vessel of poetic expression, strength and virtuosity.

Time to ignite the inner poet inside you.

THE SOURCE:
Teaching dance is probably my most favourite job in the world, particularly regular people. I have great passion turning non-dancers into dancers. And it brings me great joy to help regular people/dance lovers see their innate beauty and witness them become extra-ordinary and sensational dancers. These experiences has inspired me to develop this series.

ABOUT THE SERIES:
The series consists of four research programs. Each program works with three poetic elements. We dig into each element to discover tools for embodiment and explore its physical sensations through improvisation, movement research and exploration in Contemporary dance.

What excites me about these programs are the embodiment aspects that comes out of the research.

How does this all translates in your body? How can it all be felt?
Can our bodies speak what we want to say into how it comes out in crystal clear form?
How can they see us exactly how our hearts desire to be seen?

Can we show up to that with all of us?

“Transformation” may sound cliché these days, but I believe that through the honesty of our inquiries in the body, we create incredible potential to create virtuosic resonance and impactful change within ourselves and in our surroundings.

Are you ready for that?
then I invite you to come and groove with me in this journey.
’cause your body knows you’re ready to shine. <3

READY TO MAKE THE MOVE?

WHY AN INTIMATE CONTAINER?

  • Being immersed in an intimate space of a small group will create a sense of community within our research period

  • I believe in order for this research space to be rich, spaces in which we can hear each other, show up to our research, share our processes on how we relate to our bodies are key ingredients.

  • As a teacher who have taught for large groups, it can be quite disconnecting and so this space will be so special for me as I can pour a lot of personal touch and guidance into the container.

About Alvin:

“In the past 10 years of performing as an dance artist, educating Contemporary dance and Improvisation in schools and institutions, capturing the beauty in dancers as movement director and photographer and teaching dance all over the world, I feel inspired to create a container to thread all of my artistic practices and teachings

What inspired me to make this program?

The thread of this program is to help people access their innate beauty, providing spaces to tap into their inner poet.

It is incredibly touching when we make movement that is rooted in honesty. Whenever we improvise, we are essentially creating poetry in our body. This poetic work can be abstract, meaningful, meaningless, direct, obvious, unclear and etc. Through this process, we can welcome all expressions, letting information flow through us and defining clarity in our artistic voice.

How can we evoke poetry that is meaningful to ourselves in the ways we can communicate and to our audience how we can leave an imprint that’s impactful.

When we find this clear way of relating -- we experience a level of awareness that is truly liberating, a radical way of self-acceptance through self-expression and taking ownership in choice-making. I look forward to dig in together how we can nurture this space with you all and harness the voice of our poetic bodies.”
